This year’s dunk contest at the NBA’s All-Star weekend up in the 6 was one for the history books. Players across the league are already dubbing this one a contender for GOAT status which is huge, because there have been some dunk contests of epic proportions since the first one was held during halftime of the ABA All-Star game in 1976 (Dr. J went home with the win). Zach Lavine, Aaron Gordon, Will Barton, and Andre Drummond all came with expectations of dominating the competition. If you missed it, this is how it went down, dunk by dunk (to save embarrassment, we’ll only include the makes).
7. Will Barton sets it off with a casual between the legs two handed reverse. He makes it look easy.

4. The light skinned bandit, Zach Lavine does something that can barely be described by words.

There are then some inconsequential and lackluster dunks from Will and Andre that we will save you from seeing. You’re welcome. Both Aaron and Zach kill the round with some great dunks. Let’s fast forward.
In the round to take it all, the match up is Zach Lavine vs. Aaron Gordon. Team light skinned against team light skinned. Drake was forced to pick sides and was seen supporting Lavine. It was an emotional time.

They go back and forth for several more exchanges each pulling out some ridiculous, gravity defying dunks, but Zach Lavine wins it all. The best thing about this is that Aaron Gordon gives him a bro hug at the end to show the people that team light skinned will never be broken and are forever unified no matter who won that dunk contest.
