A lot of people have mixed emotions about Nene Leakes dating a new man. The move from the Real Housewives of Atlanta OG comes just three months after her husband Gregg lost his battle with colon cancer. Leakes’ former network mate, Dr. Heavenly Kimes, shared her opinion in a social media post.
The former’RHOA’ star says her late husband gave her his blessing for her to move on
Leakes is dating Liberian-born businessman Nyonisela Sioh. He owns a couture suit store in North Carolina. Leakes and Sioh were reportedly introduced to each other by Leakes’ close friend, Peter Thomas. Thomas also starred on RHOA for several seasons while he was married to Leakes’ former co-star and BFF, Cynthia Bailey.
According to Leakes, Gregg gave her his blessing to move on and find happiness before he passed. She told The Shade Room in an exclusive interview: “Gregg and I had a very tearful conversation before his passing. His words to me were ‘be happy, keep smiling and he who finds you, has found a good one.'”
A source told People Magazine that Leakes is in love with Sioh. “Nyonisela treats her like a queen. He’s constantly fawning over her, showering her with compliments and putting her needs first. She couldn’t have found a better guy to be with after her loss.”
Dr. Heavenly Kimes says she wouldn’t have gone public with a new man
The Married to Medicine star has a weekly YouTube and Instagram live broadcast where she discusses hot topics, mainly in the reality television realm. The fellow Bravo star discussed Leakes’ new romance and made it known that she personally isn’t truly for what she’s seeing online.
“That’s NeNe life. Her husband gave her the go-ahead to live her life and do what she wants to do,” Kimes said. “It’s hard being out there by yourself. She’s a celebrity, probably a lot of dudes at her, with Kimes adding that Leakes “stood behind” Gregg during his cancer battle and Gregg’s alleged conversation with his wife that it “was okay for her to move on.”
But Kimes says it’s too much too soon for her. “Nobody would know who I was sleeping with,” she said. “Not everything is for Instagram. Maybe I am wrong. I just wouldn’t have posted him up.”
