This new trailer for the series gives us a little more than the last one, expanding on a key piece of premise information hinted at in the previous shorter teaser.

Halle Berry’s stars in CBS’ new Steven Spielberg-produced futuristic thriller series Extant, which debuts on Wednesday, July 2, at 9/8c.

The series, as we’ve known so far, will center on a female astronaut trying to reconnect with her family, after she returns home after a year in space. Her experiences lead to events that ultimately change the course of human history. And the key piece of information the below new teaser expands on is that it she’s carrying what is likely an alien baby (or something), which she brings back with her to earth.

Louis Gossett Jr. will play her good-natured but unreliable father – a retired doctor living out his last years in an isolated community, which keeps him out of touch with the rest of the world, including his daughter and her family.

Goran Visnjic, Grace Gummer, Camryn Manheim and Michael O’Neill will also star in Extant.

The script was penned by Mickey Fisher, who will executive produce alongside Spielberg, Greg Walker, Brooklyn Weaver, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
