Ceasefire New Orleans community activist Charles O. Anderson announces his bid to be New Orleans' next mayor with a rap video that expresses his dedication and promise to ending gun violence in the city.

“This is not a joke,” Anderson raps in the video released Wednesday, July 12. “I want nothing more than to kill our killings. It’s what I breathe for.”

Throughout the video, he puts forth his 4-year, $30 million plan he calls “Everywhere, Every Ward, Cease Fire” that will stop the aimless killing in the city.

“I released this video not because I think I can rap or I want to be a rap artist, but because I wanted to ensure that my mayoral bid and more importantly the cause gets the attention of the whole city,” Anderson said in a press release. “I will do anything to make sure that we stop the shootings and killings.”

We're not sure how to feel about this but can we one moment to appreciate these suits? Not only is he giving us bars but looks. His campaign deserves some credit for that alone.
