Nicki Minaj has the girls talking online after a screenshot from an article praising the rapper showed names of other female rappers scratched out.

According to Bossip, the “Blick Blick” rapper shared the photo after she allegedly scribbled out the names of Megan Thee Stallion, The City Girls, Doja Cat, and Cardi B. The opinion piece written by HotNewHipHop’s Joshua Robinson praised the rapper for her contributions to music and other female rappers who have equally contributed to the industry.

“Yet, what’s most astonishing and powerful about Nicki’s impact on Hip-Hop is her presence and, sometimes, the lack thereof,” Robinson writes. “Whether she’s going on an unexpected freestyle or guest-feature run, giving a rare interview, or speaking her mind in a wild Twitter rant, Nicki Minaj’s presence — be it aural, digital, or visual — is absolutely enthralling, and when she’s on hiatus, you can tell.”

The following sentence, praising the other women who have contributed to the industry, shows all of their names scratched out in bright pink color.

“Despite the welcomed contributions of women like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, City Girls, and Doja Cat over the past few years,” Robinson writes. “Female rap still feels incomplete without Nicki Minaj’s presence and output, and that alone illustrates how important she is to Hip-Hop, as a genre, and as a culture.”

In the past, Minaj collaborated with all the women named outside of the City Girls, with whom she recently made amends. Apart from the very public beef with Cardi B, it confused fans to learn Megan and Doja Cat were scratched out without any public beef with the girls.

The Barbz, as Minaj’s fans are affectionately known, viewed the screenshot as a part of Minaj’s sense of humor and didn’t take offense, while others felt it revealed her darker side.

However, many Twitter users reacted directly to the Queen, calling her tweet mean-spirited.

The negative comments don’t seem to bother Minaj too much as she reposts the screenshot with an excessive amount of laughing emojis.
