Nigel Sylvester on this NYFW moment
“It was a phenomenal feeling being blessed with the opportunity to collaborate with New Era during NYFW,” Sylvester told Blavity in a recent interview. The brand has been a major part of my style for decades, so being handed the keys to showcase this new collection in the streets of NYC, my home, was extra special. Bringing this moment to life for New Era took a lot of planning, collaboration, and dedication from the entire team. I wanted to create something truly unique and disruptive, so we had to be intentional about all the details. From inception to execution, it was a team effort, and everyone brought their A-game to make this happen.”
The athlete also said that this fashion show doubled as a culmination of his work both as a creative, as well as what he as accomplished on the bike.
“Partnering with New Era in this capacity is a natural evolution of my journey as a Pro BMX athlete and creative,” he added. “Throughout my career, I’ve always sought to blend the worlds of sport, style, and fashion, and New Era embodies that same mindset. We both stand committed to world-class craftsmanship, self-expression, and pushing boundaries. This partnership understands the importance of performance, lifestyle, and individuality, which creates a space that allows me to authentically express my creativity.”
