Three weeks after Hurricane Maria caused massive devastation in Puerto Rico, the city of Aibonito has yet to receive any aid from FEMA. Despite visibly cleared roadways in the small mountain municipality, and several visits from FEMA representatives – no food, water, supplies, or aid have been delivered to these American citizens.
According to Rachel Maddow, her show's producers were told by FEMA that it's not their job to distribute food and water, saying, "relief supplies are being delivered to regional staging areas and mayors are largely responsible for arranging pick-up and distribution." No word from FEMA on how mayors are supposed to accomplish this logistical feat without vehicles, fuel, or phones.

Luckily, there has been an abundance of celebrities raising money and aiding Puerto Rico in a way that our government can't seem to figure out. Sad.
