Omar Dorsey has landed a multiple-episode arc on the final season of the Danny McBride comedy on HBO, titled Eastbound & Down.
Dorsey will play a character named Dontel Benjamin, described by THR as “a flashy former NFL player turned loudmouth talk-show host, who’s aggressive, obnoxious, and rarely lets anyone get a word in edgewise.“
Dorsey’s credits include both TV and film work, including, most recently, appearing in Django Unchained, CSI: NY, Bones, Rizzoli & Isles, The Blind Side, Rizzoli & Isles and much more.
HBO announced in June that Eastbound & Down, produced by McBride, Jody Hill, Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy and Adam McKay, will end after this season’s eight episodes.
Eastbound‘s fourth season will premiere Sunday, September 29, at 10 p.m. on HBO.
