Former White House staffer and current White House whistleblower Omarosa Manigault Newman is now turning her sights on education secretary Betsy DeVos after claiming she has tapes of President Donald Trump.

As her new book, Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House, hits bookshelves, excerpts paint an ugly picture of DeVos' policies regarding historically black colleges and universities and black students in general. Manigault Newman alleges DeVos believes black students aren't capable of understanding what the Department of Education is attempting to do, Politico reports.

Their relationship appeared to have soured during DeVos' address to Bethune-Cookman University graduates in May. Moments after students protested her being at the commencement, the two reportedly had a conversation about what happened.

“I must have looked stunned,” Manigault Newman wrote. DeVos then added: “They don’t get it. They don’t have the capacity to understand what we’re trying to accomplish.”

DeVos was constantly trashed throughout the book. In many instances, she was blamed for the rocky relationship HBCUs had with the Trump administration although the president has not been kind to high-profile black graduates like Fisk grad U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, The Hill reports.

“Meaning, all those black students were too stupid to understand her agenda,” Manigault Newman wrote in the book.

There was a back and forth between the two in which Omarosa tried to defend the grads from DeVos' assumptions.

“Oh, no, Madam Secretary. They get it. They get it, and they aren’t happy about you or your goals.” Apparently, Trump was also tired of how DeVos was handling the matters regarding HBCUs.

Manigault Newman and DeVos were on a trip to Howard University prior to the Bethune-Cookman commencement where Omarosa claims Trump threatened to relieve DeVos of her position, according to USA Today.

“She is Ditzy DeVos, what do you expect? In a very short period of time, I will get rid of her. Believe me, believe me,” she wrote.

Like the majority of the allegations posed by Omarosa, the White House has denied and insulted her.

"This disgraced former White House employee is peddling lies for profit. The book is a joke as are the false claims she’s making about Secretary DeVos," said Liz Hill, press secretary to DeVos.
