Donnie has been all up in arms this week after Omarosa Manigault-Newman announced she had audio recordings of Trump and other White House staff that could shake up the administration. In typical fashion, the 45th president took to Twitter and called the self-proclaimed “whistleblower” a “crazed, crying lowlife” and a "dog."
The tirade led one reporter to ask Press Secretary Sarah Sanders what she would say to those who believe the president’s dehumanizing remarks are reserved for black people.
“What do you say to people who look at the pattern of the comments the president made specifically about African Americans and feel like he is singing those folks out because of their race?” one reporter asked. “Are they missing something? Are they deluding themselves?”
Her answer was lackluster, claiming that Trump “has said similar things about a number of individuals, certainly that are not African-American or any other minority” and said the President of the United States is an “equal-opportunity person that calls things like he sees it.”
Sanders' defense of Trump against charges of racism is that he insults everyone, not just black people.

However, this commentary turns a blind eye to the difference in rhetoric Trump uses when confronting white versus black opposition.
With racist appeal, Trump has continuously tuned into his crowd pleasing ways by confirming the thoughts of his followers and using their prejudiced nature to discredit black people who speak up against him. While white opposers are often accused by the President of adding fire to a ‘witch hunt’ flame directed at him, Trump takes extra care to refer to black people as animals in Omarosa’s case, and insult their intelligence with eugenic-related precision.
Just a few short weeks ago, Trump came at LeBron James and Don Lemon, calling Lemon the “dumbest man on television” and saying that despite this, Lemon still managed to make “LeBron look smart!”
Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon. He made Lebron look smart, which isn’t easy to do. I like Mike!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 4, 2018
The president has also demeaned political opposers, such as Auntie/Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who he has repeatedly claimed has a “low IQ,” after she began a public call for the president’s impeachment.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 25, 2018
“It’s important to understand the legacy, the history of the attack on black intelligence as a way of justifying dehumanization,” Princeton’s Chairman of the African-American Studies Department, Eddie s. Glaude Jr. said.
While Omarosa is trying to find and dust off her blackcard to pretend she was with us all along, the essence behind the attack made on her by the president finds footing in racial roots and that cannot be denied.
