It may be difficult to read, but Oprah Winfrey says she has no interest in running for President in 2020. The news may be as shocking as all the rumors that pointed toward her potential run. Let's be clear: Stedman and Gayle had the world shook at the idea that she was 'actively thinking' of it.
As reported by the Huffington Post, three weeks before her historic moment at the Golden Globes, Mother O sat for an Instyle interview where she put those rumors to rest.
Oprah 2020? “I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s not something that interests me. In the interview, she says:
“Gayle ― who knows me as well as I know myself practically ― has been calling me regularly and texting me things, like a woman in the airport saying, ‘When’s Oprah going to run?’” Oprah told Brown. “So Gayle sends me these things, and then she’ll go, ‘I know, I know, I know! It wouldn’t be good for you ― it would be good for everyone else.’”
For now, Winfrey's "new day on the horizon" won't come as her being Madame President. If not her, though, then who?
