As Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams prepares to go head-to-head against Republican challenger Brian Kemp on November 6, she’ll have not just one, but two, special supporters by her side.

On Wednesday, Abrams tweeted media mogul Oprah Winfrey would be accompanying her as she speaks with constituents about the cruciality of their vote in the upcoming midterm election.

Winfrey will stand alongside Abrams on Thursday for two town hall conversations in Georgia’s Cobb and DeKalb counties.

"Oprah Winfrey has inspired so many of us through the years with her unparalleled ability to form real connections and strengthen the bonds of family and community," Abrams shared with NBC News. "I am honored to have Oprah join me for uplifting and honest conversations with voters about the clear choice before us in this election and the boundless potential of Georgians.”

Recent polls show Abrams is leading the gubernatorial race with 48.1 percent of the vote as Kemp trails closely behind at 47.2. The current Secretary of State of Georgia has been accused of attempting to suppress the Black vote by multiple parties, including the NAACP.

Oprah is the second high-profile celebrity to endorse Abrams along with Barack Obama. Support for Abrams is likely to surge as a result of the billionaire’s endorsement; her support during Obama’s 2007 campaign reportedly led to increased overall voter participation.

If Abrams wins, she will become the first Black female governor in United States history.
