Relentless Church pastor John Gray is currently in the hospital after experiencing a saddle pulmonary embolism, according to an Instagram post made by his wife, Aventer Gray, Greenville News reports.

Aventer shared in her social media post that her husband felt “a little different” the last few weeks and finally went to the emergency room Thursday evening. John was rushed to the critical care unit when doctors found that the pastor had several blood clots in his lungs and “a saddle Pulmonary Embolism in the pulmonary artery,” according to Aventer’s post, Revolt reports.

“My family and I stand in need of a miracle,” Aventer wrote in her post, Greenville News reports.

A saddle pulmonary embolism is when a blood clot is lodged in a lung’s artery and can be life-threatening, according to the National Library of Medicine. If the blockage is left untreated, it can cause unstable blood pressure and prevent blood supply from traveling throughout the body, resulting in damaged organs, according to Medical News Today, Revolt reports.

“To place this in perspective, the doctor said that people have come into the hospital dead with this exact scenario [John] walked in with,” Aventer wrote.

Aventer implored the community to pray for her husband, and asked for well wishes from their church congregation.

Fast and Furious star Tyrese Gibson showed his support for John by uploading a picture of him holding Gibson’s newborn daughter on Instagram.

“To every surgeon, to every nurse to every anesthesiologist, this man of God will get though this,” Gibson captioned the tender moment, Greenville News reports. “This man of God will rise again and get back to doing what it is that he’s does…… And that’s carrying the tribe of lost souls into the kingdom.”

Aventer noted that John will need “two types of surgery due to the pressure now on the heart within the next 24 hours.”

Aventer wrapped up her post by declaring her faith, writing, “I don’t care what CT, ECHO, All or any of the tests show! It’s clear God isn’t finished. Clots have to bow to my God! That’s all!”

John and Aventer have two children together: a son, John W. Gray IV, and a daughter, Theory Aspyn-Sky Gray.

John served as an associate pastor under the leadership of popular televangelist Joel Osteen. In 2017, John and Aventer agreed to a reality show following their life, called The Book of John Gray.
