Update (April 2, 2019)Los Angeles police have confirmed that Nipsey Hussle’s suspected killer is in custody, reports NBC News.

Eric Holder is believed to have fatally shot Nipsey Hussle as well as two other unidentified persons outside of the rapper’s Marathon Clothing store in Hyde Park on Sunday. Police have yet to say whether it's Holder who is in custody.

Hussle, born Ermias Asghedom, was fired at multiple times and reportedly suffered gunshot wounds to his torso and head. Hussle died from his injuries at the hospital later that night.

On Tuesday, Police Chief Michel Moore told reporters that Holder is a suspected gang member and is believed to have known Hussle.

Holder reportedly approached Hussle and two other men on the scene, resulting in an argument regarding an undisclosed personal matter before the shooting occurred.

Following the incident, Holder allegedly left the store before returning with a gun, shooting and killing Hussle and injuring the two other men involved.

Hussle and two co-owners opened the Marathon Clothing store in June 2017, which remains a staple location in the hip-hop culture. The “smartstore” and its counterpart app is a place for fans and consumers to gather and purchase exclusive smart products.

The Los Angeles Times reports 29-year-old Eric Holder is the police's primary suspect in the philanthropist's slaying. While there were initial reports citing the shooting was gang-motivated, investigators are convinced the shooting was personal. There is speculation Hussle knew the gunman.

Holder allegedly got into a dispute with the 33-year-old outside of the Marathon Clothing store on Sunday. Investigators believed the gunman pulled out his weapon on Hussle and two other men in the parking lot.

The shooter reportedly fired multiple shots killing the Grammy-nominated artist. The two men were transported to a local hospital where they received treatment. Holder reportedly ran to a nearby alleyway where an "unidentified female" was waiting in a getaway car.

Police are still searching for the "Victory Lap" artist's killer.

"Detectives have worked tirelessly and are now asking for the public's help in locating the suspect in this case," police said in a statement.

The getaway car is described as a white, four-door 2016 Chevy Cruze with California license plate 7RJD742.

"Anyone with information related to his whereabouts or this deadly shooting is urged to contact South Bureau Homicide at 323-786-5100."

The Los Angeles Police Department's announcement on Monday sent shockwaves through the community.

Approximately 19 people were injured in a stampede of roughly 300 mourners at a vigil in South L.A. Authorities are not sure if a shooting ignited the chaos and panic. Footage from the incident shows hundreds gathered to pay their respects for the STEM advocate, activist and serial entrepreneur.

According to CNN, most of the injured suffered non-life threatening injuries. There were no gunshot wounds to any of the trampled victims. Only one person was detained for disorderly conduct, police spokesperson Meghan Aguilar told CNN.

However, NBC News reports two victims were in critical condition, including one who was struck by a vehicle. Two others were in serious condition.
