Police responded to an anonymous tip suggesting R. Kelly's girlfriends were planning to carry out a "suicide pact." Per People, the Chicago Police Department's emergency responders showed up to the singer's Trump Towers home before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
“Police received a call from an out of state anonymous caller stating that people at the location were going to carry out a suicide pact. Police on scene conducting a wellness check and it is not a bonafide incident,” the department confirmed in a statement.
On Friday morning, Kelly's girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, spoke with CBS' Gayle King to address the sexual abuse allegations against him. They believe their parents were "out here just to get money," however, Savage's father claims he hadn't seen his daughter since she began living with Kelly. Both women became very emotional defending the 52-year-old.

Police arrived at the downtown Chicago apartment after a radio call informed officers Clary and “four other women, who are victims of Kelly, are planning to carry out a suicide pact at one of the condos at Trump Tower.”
Lizzette Martinez, one of Kelly's alleged victims, spoke with the publication before the release of Surviving R. Kelly. She believes Kelly had a "suicide pact" with the women living in his home in the event something were to go awry.
Kelly’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, also spoke to People regarding the phone call made on behalf of the women.
“It is offensive that anyone gives this any credibility,” he said.
