Clarence House has announced that Prince Harry is engaged to be married to U.S. actor and humanitarian Meghan Markle.
According to BuzzFeed, the 36-year-old actress has reportedly finished filming her final scenes on the TV drama Suits, which she will be exiting after seven seasons playing paralegal turned lawyer Rachel Zane. The couple met in July 2016 through mutual friends, and their relationship has faced heavy media scrutiny. So much so that the prince was prompted to denounce the “racial undertones” of news coverage of Markle, whose mother is black and father is white.
All we know about the wedding so far is that it will take place in spring 2018.
The news of the engagement, of course, came with mixed reactions, some questioning her blackness, others upset that she is marrying a white man. However, while those folks are upset and miserable, most of us are not going to let them ruin this moment.
We got us a Black princess ya'll. You really can't tell me a damn thing for the rest of the day because it won't matter. Shout out to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Their wedding will be my Super Bowl. pic.twitter.com/WmBnGm5AuZ

Prince Harry's future mother-in-law is a black woman with dreadlocks. There are no words for this kind of joy.
