Queen Latifah is speaking out on the sexual assault allegations against her former The Equalizer co-star, actor Chris Noth, calling it a “delicate situation.”
“It’s still surreal. It is such a dicey, delicate situation that requires a great deal of respect,” she told People Magazine in a recent interview. “That’s a personal thing that he’s going to have to deal with.”
“We are figuring out what we want to do creatively on the show and how we’re going to deal with that character,” she continued. Latifah is an executive producer of the series aside from starring in it. “Chris’s character’s obviously a big part of the show and it was amazing chemistry, amazing chemistry. And my feeling is justice has to prevail regardless. I just want the right things to be done, you know?”
Noth's firing arrived in the wake of a The Hollywood Reporter article in which two women accuse the actor of sexually assaulting them when they were in their 20s.
The revelation comes in the wake of press surrounding the Sex and The City spinoff series, And Just Like That…, which killed off Noth’s famed character Mr. Big in the pilot episode.
These aren’t the only allegations made against Noth. A 1995 article has resurfaced revealing that model Beverly Johnson accused Noth of beating her, threatening to kill her dog and disfigure her in 1995 court documents. Noth and Johnson were formerly married.
