Dana "Queen Latifah" Owens, via her Flavor Untt Entertainment production company has sold a female-lead police procedural pilot to CBS, which will center on "a street savvy Philadelphia woman who realizes her calling as a homicide detective after a defining moment."

Charles Murray (V, Castle, Criminal Minds) will pen and executive produce the drama, with Latifah executive producing.

No word on who they're eyeing to star in this, and whether she'll even be black. Really, how often do we see primetime network shows with black women (or men) as the central characters, with the series built around them, let alone police procedurals?

Of course, nothing's a done deal; this is TV; it may never see the light of day.

But the Queen certainly has been busy expanding her TV empire. From VH1's Single Ladies, to a daytime talk show with Sony Pictures Television she's currently prepping.
