It seems that the hate crimes toward Muslims aren't just happening in America. Despite the Trump effect, Islamaphobia is running rampant worldwide. According to the Oxford Homeless Charity in Oxford, England, a "racist mob" attacked Sudanese women and children during Eid in London on July 1, 2017. Eid al-Fitr is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. The #EidLdn celebration is a festival for the holiday in London England and is also where the women and children were headed at the time of the attack.

The Grio reports that the police were called after the altercation started. The altercation caused one person to be hospitalized while the paramedics were able to treat one person on sight. The police have said that "racist language was used" which isn't surprising, but what officially happened to the perpetrators is still unclear.

While a witness claims to have seen the woman hit with a ball before being punched and kicked, a person involved in the brawl claims that isn't true. They say that the woman was accidentally hit with a football and there was never any racist language used.

In the video, it is unclear how the altercation started or what exactly was said. However, the racist attacks of Muslims are seemingly at a high. Therefore, it's not reaching to assume that the altercation wasn't as innocent as it's being played up. All we can hope is that people learn to mind their business and let people live, even if it's a different way of living than you. There's no reason that a brawl needed to happen for just walking to a celebration. Watch the video and you be the judge.
