Raising Dion is not going forward at Netflix, according to one of the show’s stars.
TVLine reports that news regarding the series was broken to fans by Sammi Haney, who plays the best friend of kid superhero Dion (Ja’Siah Young). She wrote a thank you to fans supporting the show, while letting them know that a third season was not in the works.
"Sad to say that Raising Dion is CANCELLED. Thank you for all of the amazing support we got from all of our wonderful fans," she wrote on Instagram. "Season 2 was a success, equal to Season 1, even if just looking at how many people watched all of it and wanted a season 3!"
“The only ‘silver lining’ is that this does free me up to pursue other roles,” she continued. “My Netflix contract kept me from accepting other major roles offered to me (1 actually written with me in mind) on other tv shows! So if you work for a major studio, hit me up again, I’m ready!”

Haney also posted in her Instagram post a picture from Netflix's Top 10 list, with Raising Dion listed in the number two spot with 49,090,000 hours watched in that particular week.
Fans have already started reacting to the news of Raising Dion’s cancellation, with one commenter writing, “I’m disappointed @Netflix. #RaisingDion was such a great family show, and we don’t have too many for middle schoolers to choose from on TV. My daughters loved watching it as a family; the show entertained even my husband. Please bring back a season 3 of Raising Dion.”
