Reebok plans to pay significant homage to the Divine Nine with a new line. The Yard Love Apparel Collection features garments in seven different color schemes. Historically Black sororities and fraternities have long adopted these hues as their signatures.
With this release, Reebok continues to support the United Against Racism initiative by donating $25,000 to the United Negro College Fund, the largest private scholarship provider in the country for students from underrepresented groups.
Portia Blunt, vice president of apparel at Reebok, explains how meaningful January is to her because it is the month in which her historically Black greek organization was originally established.
“As a member of a historically Black Greek organization, January, the founding month of my sisterhood, is incredibly special to me,” said Blunt.
“These communities foster a unique bond and heritage of service work that has been maintained for over a century. I am proud to have the opportunity to celebrate and honor the legacies of these organizations and create a capsule many of our team members can tell their personal stories through,” she said.
John Moore, SVP of U.S. Commercial Sales, also believes this collection will help bring attention to the significant initiatives of historically Black fraternities and sororities.
“This collection will help shine a light on the important efforts of historically Black fraternities and sororities. As a member of a Black Greek organization, we believe in the power of human achievement and are committed to justice and equality for all,” added Moore.
Associate Manager Isaiah Mason and Associate Product Manager Jordan Nelson are just two of the many Reebok employees (and members of the sororities and fraternities that inspired the collection) who appear in the collection’s promotional campaign.
On Jan. 10, the Yard Love Apparel Collection will be available for a starting price of $25. Visit Reebok.com to support the brand, and check out the vibrant Yard Love Apparel Collection below.
