Things are looking up for dancehall artist Spice. The “dancehall queen” had developed post-operative complications after receiving cosmetic surgery procedures in the Dominican Republic. According to Dancehall Mag, the artist is “awake, talking” and getting stronger after experiencing the health scare.
A source provided a statement on her status, stating, “When I spoke to a member of the family on Friday, no one sounded nervous or worried, they say she is doing well.”
Rumors spread that the 40-year-old artist, whose real name is Grace Hamilton, was allegedly in a coma and possibly suffered a heart attack. Several social media accounts dedicated to plastic surgery news gave word of Spice’s alleged status. Their updates, mixed with her absence from social media, led fans to think the worst.
On Nov. 2, Dancehall Mag provided a statement from Ray Alexander, Spice’s booking agent.
“Spice hasn’t had a heart attack, and neither is she in a coma. Those are all lies. The rumors were caused by people not knowing where she was and because she hadn’t posted on IG.”
While Alexander did his best to clear up the rumors, conflicting reports made fans uneasy.
Although people were unsure of her status, prayers were said for Spice’s recovery.
Spice’s Love & Hip Hop castmate, Yandy Smith, sent her prayers with a clip from a sermon by Pastor John Gray.

Smith captioned the post, “He was always there! And we know this because YOU HERE RIGHT NOW!” She continued, “God was carrying you in those moments that’s why it didn’t feel like God was beside you. God may be caring you right now. Drop a [prayer emoji] a Thank God or a Amen if you know or needed that reminder thank you @realjohngray.”
