Regina King shares some special behind-the-scenes moments with Bad Bunny in the new Darren Aronofsky crime thriller, Caught Stealing.
In an interview with Blavity/Shadow and Act Managing Editor Trey Mangum, King described working with Bad Bunny as “just a joy to watch him commit the way he did.”
Regina King says Bad Bunny ‘wanted to be his best’
“He wanted to be his best, and he wanted to make sure that he was saying words clearly because, especially when you’re speaking a language that’s not your native tongue, some words get tricky.”
“In the English language, we break our rules all the time, you know, in different dialects. So he was just so committed, and it’s also great, just kind of like swapping stories, you know, you’re getting to know each other,” King continued. “That’s one of the things that I really love about being in a film. It’s so galvanizing and you’re meeting new people from totally different places.”

Regina King on working with Matt Smith
Even though King said she and co-star Matt Smith didn’t share many full scenes in the film together, they found a lot to connect with on set, such as how both of them loved dogs.
“It’s those, those little things that I really appreciated, that he was open to share himself and his experience and that he was nervous and that he just wanted it to be good and he killed it.”
