Representative Maxine Waters has been shaking the table since she stepped onto the scene. Her outspoken nature and progressiveness have certainly ruffled the feathers of many a racist and reactionary — and the fact that she is a black woman hasn't won her any points among those that do not like her.

One of those people has taken his hate to a new, frightening level.

According to the LA Times, Anthony Scott Lloyd, a 44-year-old man from San Pedro, was indicted late last week for sending a death threat voicemail to Waters.

“If you continue to make threats toward the president, you’re going to wind up dead, Maxine, ’cause we’ll kill you,” Lloyd said in the voicemail, according to an affidavit.

The same affidavit told Lloyd's story: it states that Lloyd became angry after listening to a talk radio show where it was reported that Waters had said some negative things about President Trump.

Angry, Llyod left the voicemail, which didn't just include the death threat, but also the n-word and a gay slur.

The FBI investigated the threat; clues led them to San Pedro, where Lloyd lives with his grandmother. He told FBI agents that he sees himself as a "pro-president supporter" and that left the voicemail, but never planned on going through with his threats.

Waters responded to the threat by saying, “My district is very diverse, and though we don't always agree, my constituents would never threaten me. We are collectively focused on the progress, safety and security of our communities.”

Lloyd's attorney didn't respond to the Times' request for a comment. While he is currently free on $20,000 bail, if convicted, Lloyd could face up to 10 years in federal prison. His next court date is scheduled for December 7.
