While The Real Housewives of Dubai has been a hit with many viewers, other franchise cast members aren’t on board. Beverly Hills star Lisa Rinna famously shaded the show and her comments have been perceived as racist. Now, RHOP stars are chiming in and Dubai stars Chanel Ayan and Lesa Milan are not taking the criticism lying down.
Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon aren’t fans of ‘RHODubai’
On the July 25 episode of their podcast Reasonably Shady, they spoke with former Housewives executive producer Carlos King about the new franchise. King made it clear he feels the cast are a copycat version of all previous franchises who’ve watched the show and are mimicking iconic cast members. Bryant says there is one standout.
“I’ve only seen one, maybe one and a half episodes. The only thing that stands out to me is the model girl ... I feel like she’s at least entertaining to watch,” Bryant said. “The others is like paint drying. I’m looking for her [in] the next scene, so I will give her that.”
Ayan and Milan appeared on TODAY chatted and had something to say about Bryant’s recent remarks.
“I don’t agree with that, as much as I respect Gizelle. But Lesa and me literally carry the show,” Ayan said. “So she needs to watch more than one episode to see what’s going on. It’s an ensemble cast. You can’t judge when you’ve only watched one and a half.”
“I feel like Gizelle should actually know better, and girl, worry about your fashions first before you worry about us,” Milan added.
RHODubai airs Wednesdays on Bravo. The cast recently filmed their first reunion special. Listen to the clip below from Dixon and Bryant’s podcast.
