Sexism throughout the music industry — particularly in hip-hop — is a special kind of beast, and Rick Ross’ recent comments certainly add fuel to that fire of a discussion.

The Maybach Music Group (MMG) founder recently visited The Breakfast Club to discuss Meek Mill and his new VH1 show, Signed.

At one point, the show’s hosts began to discuss the careers that had been fostered through MMG, and Angela Yee brought up the lack of female rappers signed to the record label.

Ross’ response?

“I never did it because I always thought I would end up f*cking the female rapper and f*cking the business up. I’m so focused on my business, I gotta be honest with you. She’s looking good, I’m spending so much money on her photo shoots, I gotta f*ck a couple of times.”

Yee followed up by asking if that same mentally would apply to a 17-year-old (or younger) up-and-comer, who Ross molded from the beginning. The rapper answered that things would be different if she was his protege.

Still, Ross' comments — his constant sexual advances towards Angela Yee during the interview, which brings up another sexism conversation surrounding women hip-hop journalists — seem to bolster the arguments of those that feel that a rampant misogyny exists within the culture.

And you know woke Twitter definitely wasn’t having it!
