All of Twitter came to a screeching stop after a virtually unknown podcast dropped what many are calling the most outlandish top 50 rappers of all time list to hit the net.

The Cincinnati-based The Brew podcast published their list of “Top 50 Greatest Rappers of All-Time” in music history on Monday, sparking a near-instant backlash. To the surprise of many, the list had some questionable rankings that could not be ignored. The bone of contention for many was New York rapper Joe Budden being ranked the third-best rapper of all time.

Firstly, there were no women. Rappers like Grammy-award winning icons Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim did not make the cut nor did MC Lyte or Queen Latifah.

Secondly, Tupac was ranked 15th.

Jay-Z came in as the G.O.A.T, Nas ranked second and Notorious B.I.G. came in eighth. There was plenty to complain about, but the diversity of artists present was one of the few bright spots.

Twitter was flabbergasted by the list. In terms of the criteria used to rank the artists, The Brew has yet to reveal what they used to measure and quantify greatness.

The takes were so hot, even Questlove of The Roots had to chime in.

Budden, known for his 2003 hit single "Pump It Up," took the hate in jest. Prior to becoming a media mogul and entertainment critic, he was formerly a member of supergroup Slaughterhouse. The 38-year-old retired from the game in 2016 — some 13 years after his 2003 debut.

No matter how questionable the take, the podcast creators certainly broke the internet. Their relatively small Twitter account only has 737 followers as of this report. However, with the recent list, they have managed to get thousands of people talking.
