Fans have been exasperated waiting for the fruits of Rihanna's reunion with the studio, but this tearful reunion with her high school gym coach Roddy Estwick might curb their impatience for now.
The "Work" singer attended the Cricket World Cup in England on Monday, in part to enjoy the match but also to see her trainer, who now serves as assistant coach for the West Indies squad. The meeting was captured on tape and quickly made its rounds on social media.
“I love this man. I came here to see the match and was cheering West Indies to a victory,” the cosmetics mogul said to Barbados Today of her longtime friend. “But I also wanted to see Mr. Estwick. He made a lasting impact on my life, and he really offered great advice to me and many others when we were at school at Combermere. I just wanted to let everyone know what he meant to me in my development and what he did for us back at school in Barbados.”
Estwick shared similar sentiments about his former student, telling the International Cricket Council (ICC) that it was “good to see her again.”
"Everybody calls her Rihanna but I know her as Robyn Fenty."

“Everybody knows her as Rihanna, but I know her as Robyn Fenty,” Estwick said following the match. “I’ve known her from age 11 until now. It was good to see her again. I used to sit with her most lunchtimes, with her and her best friends and have a chat with them, try to guide them in the right direction.”
Despite the presence of one of the biggest celebrities in the world, West Indies lost to Sri Lanka 338/6 by 23 runs, but it didn’t stop Rihanna from sharing snippets of her experience on her personal Instagram page.

“My mentor, my champ, my MVP, my school teacher, my first "Jay Brown" … You made my day!” her words read.
