A Russian makeup artist is catching heat online from critics who claim he is wearing blackface in his "white to black" makeup challenge transformation video.

User @notcatart stands by his makeup choice despite accusations of racism. The artist posted his tutorial on Instagram two days ago and it has received 110,896 views.

“I love skin of all colors and this look is inspired by it,” he wrote in his caption. “That we all are beautiful… And I wanna show you how it’s beautiful love it!”

But it just wasn't the dark foundation he applied to his face that riled up criticism; it was the grillz too that completed the controversial look.

ITS NOT “BLACKFACE” If you don’t like it just don’t watch it ????????????

Commentators pointed out that he is jeopardizing his career for clearly turning black people into a costume that can be taken off and put on at random. Then, the situation only got worst when he favorited a racist comment that read a young woman looked like “a burnt ni**er tired of picking cotton.”

This action negates his previous statement about loving all skin tones. He could have challenged the user for that statement but instead he approved of it.

Twitter user @MyNameIsBees called the makeup artist out and brought the incident to the attention of NYX Cosmetics, which condemned his actions.

After the mounting commentary, @notcatart reposted the video on Instagram with comments disabled and with the caption: "ITS NOT 'BLACKFACE' If you don’t like it just don’t watch it."
