Publishers Weekly reports that Michael Bennett of the Seattle Seahawks is authoring a memoir called Things That Make White People Uncomfortable.

Bennett's publisher describes the book as "a sports memoir and manifesto as hilarious as it is revealing."

The book's co-author, Dave Zirin of The Nation, tweeted a few more details:

Bennett is no stranger to speaking about race, social issues and politics.

In 2016, he referred to the presidential election as "a disgrace," and has challenged white NFL players to join Colin Kaepernick in his national anthem protest according to Sports Illustrated.

And the two-time Pro Bowler has put his money where his mouth is. He pledged his 2017 endorsement earnings to groups that work towards the the development of minority groups and empowerment of women of color.

For his efforts, Bennett, and his brother Martellus, were honored with the Shine a Light Award at the 2017 BET Awards for their sensational philanthropy.

Congratulations to Bennett on his book deal!

The book will be available come April 2018.
