Serena Williams has given birth to her second daughter! The tennis pro announced the arrival of her new baby, Adira River, via social media on Tuesday.
The Olympian made the first reveal with a creative announcement video on her TikTok account. The clip starts with Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian seated at a table on his laptop. Williams comes into the frame and joins him at the table. Ohanian kisses her forehead and embraces her as she sits down. The couple’s 5-year-old daughter Olympia joins the video and jumps into her mother’s arms.
Williams then signals that she will “be back in one minute.” She then returns with their new bundle of joy. The family embraces each other and showers the infant with love as the video fades to show a collage of pictures featuring them as a new family of four.
“Welcome my beautiful angel,” she captioned the clip while using the Bazzi’s appropriately named song “Beautiful” as the soundtrack.

After Williams made her post beaming with pride over her new baby girl, Ohanian took to Instagram to share his joy. The certified #GirlDad shared a series of pictures with his post. The first image was a family photo and the following two photos showcased the moment his oldest daughter met her new little sister for the first time.

Ohanian also used his post to reveal the name of the new baby. “Welcome, Adira River Ohanian,” he wrote.
He continued, “I’m grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you’ve now given me another incomparable gift — you’re the GMOAT.”
He thanked the “amazing” medical staff caring for his wife and daughter and stated he will “never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister.”
He concluded his caption with a portion of the bible verse, Isaiah 48:18: “Your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.”
Williams announced her pregnancy back in May when she unveiled her baby bump at the 2023 Met Gala.
In August, the couple threw a two-in-one bash for their gender reveal and baby shower, letting their close friends and family know they were having another girl.
