Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles opened up during a recent interview on Good Morning America where she discussed treating anxiety through the use of medication.

The morning show's host asked Biles about standing alongside other gymnasts as they brought light to the actions of former sports doctor accused of sexual assault Larry Nassar, Indy Star reports. The doctor is now serving 175 years in prison. Biles’ voice was one of the major players in the court proceedings.

“I have my ups and downs. I still go to therapy, and I’m on anxiety medicine now," Biles said when reflecting on how she's been able to process. "It’s not easy but the people surrounding me are some of the best, so it makes it a little easier.”

Biles has not let the tribulations hinder her increasing success. The 21-year-old recently graced the cover of ESPN The Magazine and made history as the first female gymnast to win four World Championships — a feat she accomplished just 24 hours after being admitted into the emergency room for kidney stones.

“There were a lot of points in this year that made me who I am today and I feel stronger,” Biles said during the interview. “I feel like this year gave me a voice and I tried to find my voice this year, and use that to the better potential and positive manner.”
