College is an expensive decision, so you don't have time to make the wrong one! BET has partnered with Get Schooled to get the word out. Get Schooled is a nonprofit dedicated to scholastic achievement. So they teamed up with DJ Khaled and BET to help launch Snapchat College Tours. Get Schooled conducted a study and found that one in five high school seniors have never set foot on a college campus, even though 93 percent of them want to go to college. So what better way to address that issue than to use social media? High school students are glued to their phones, so this is a perfect way to capture their attention and in a fun and friendly way.

20 schools will be a part of this new initiative, including University of Pennsylvania, Howard University, UCLA, University of Kansas and Spelman College. Students are able to tour the campus through the eyes of a current college student, via BET's Snapchat account. They can ask questions about a specific campus or college life. Students will also receive help writing personal statements, and participate in  text sessions with college advisers. Students, along with their parents, will receive advice on financial aid and other assistance.

DJ Khaled is excited about the program and of course the chance to use Snapchat even more. "Snapchat removes barriers and gives young people a front row seat at life’s experiences, I am excited that I can advise college students on how to give the best Snapchat college tours so students can share college life with high school kids who are eager to know more about campuses when deciding where to apply," he said  in a press release.

It is super exciting to see college tours becoming more accessible to high school students!
