We suppose Steve Harvey thought he could do no wrong in the eyes of middle-aged black folks, but that dream was quickly snatched away from him. As his revamped talk show, "Steve" took the airways in September, reviews and ratings have been pretty trash.

According to the Daily Mail, this is believed to be a result of a fallout from Harvey's black audience after he met with Trump back in January.

Now, Steve Harvey is reneging in an effort to win back his audience. He recently spoke on his choice of meeting with Trump saying that it was the "worst mistake of his life."

Yeah, clearly.

However, it may just be that the show is trash, a source tells the Daily Mail.

"People just hate the show," the source says. "He wanted to do a late-night feel for the show, but he's on a big stage with a desk and a lot of open space and nothing about the show is engaging or warm. People just aren't into it at all."

Steve Harvey's first show, "Steve Harvey," premiered with 2.2 in ratings and was a solid performer for a good chunk of its runtime. The new show "Steve" premiered earlier this fall, the show debuted at a 1.8 but quickly dropped to a 1.4 in the ratings.

Now that his show is based out of LA and not Chicago, these numbers simply can't stand.

Despite the utter backlash from black people that Harvey has received for meeting with Trump, he initially stood by his decision. He even began to lash out at fans who reprimanded him. The thing is, this isn't some comedy show and no one is laughing at your jokes. Without your fanbase and viewers, who are you and what is the fate of your show?

Harvey was too arrogant to realize the weight of his mistake and never made amends to his loyal followers for it. Even though the ratings for Harvey's game show, Family Feud took a dip and the audience for his variety show, Little Big Shots dropped almost by half, he wasn't budging. Now that his talk show is taking a hit, he seems to realize he needs us to survive.

"Now, Steve apparently realizes that despite his prior successes he's lost a significant part of his audience and he's working diligently to win them back over – whether they feel it's genuine or not," the source concluded.

NBC and IMG will likely announce sometime in December whether the revamped version of Steve will return for season two.

Tina Campbell, Chrisette Michelle, Steve Harvey…Trump was never on your team, black people were. Without us, who's really checking for you? Tragic.
