Iconic musician Stevie Wonder will take some time away from touring to receive a kidney transplant in the fall.

The 69-year-old surprised concertgoers at the British Summer Time concert in London’s Hyde Park Saturday night with an update on his health. Recently, news outlets reported Wonder was in the midst of a severe health scare.

According to The Associated Press, he wanted to quell the rumors by opening up about his need for a new kidney. He will reportedly have a kidney transplant in the fall, near the end of September.

"I don’t want to have any rumors about it, so I’m telling you about it because I like to keep it real with you all the time," Wonder told the crowd.

In April, Wonder performed at the going home service for rapper Nipsey Hussle. The "Superstition" singer also has a rigorous touring schedule ahead of him before he takes time off. NBC News reports he will continue to make appearances and plans to perform next in Dublin on July 9

The multi-Grammy winner also told fans that he has most of the details of his surgery in order. There is a donor lined up for the operation. Although he did not give specific details regarding his illness, everyone expects a speedy recovery.

"I’m all good," Wonder told the audience. "I have a donor, it’s all good. I want you to know: I came here to give you my love and to thank you for your love."

After he concludes his European tour dates, Wonder will head stateside. He has appearances set for North Carolina, South Carolina, Las Vegas, Washington D.C. and New York.

"I love you," he said, and the audience roared. "God bless you. And until we get together again, I send you love from up above."
