Issa Rae and Laura Dern are teaming up for a limited series at HBO.

The Dolls, from Dern’s Jaywalker Pictures, is co-written by Rae and Insecure writers Laura Kittrell and Amy Aniobi.

The limited series is set to “recount the aftermath of the Christmas Eve riots within two small Arkansas towns in 1983” where riots took place over Cabbage Patch Dolls.

Yes, the riots were an actual thing.

The series will explore “class, race, privilege and what it takes to be a ‘good mother.'”

Both Rae and Dern are HBO mainstays. Rae stars in her series Insecure, and she has several series in development at the network, where she has a first-look production deal. Dern starred in the network’s Big Little Lies and toplined the acclaimed TV film The Tale.

Rae, who can currently be seen in The Hate U Give on the big screen and her hit comedy, Insecure, on the small screen, will next star in the Universal feature Little. Dern, who will star in the second season of Big Little Lies, has several features coming up including Greta Gerwig’s Little Women.
