Fox is continuing to stay in the Lee Daniels business. He already has two shows on the network in Empire and Star, and now the network is developing two more.

The first is entitled Victory “set in the world of competitive gospel choirs. It tells the inspirational story of a prodigal son and a group of forgotten young people who must rise above their personal hardships to save a church and heal a broken community through the power of song.”

The second is East of Hope, which is “a multi-racial soap set in an All-American working class town which centers around two families divided by a past event, and reconnected by blood. Both tie their hopes and dreams to the high school basketball team, which they see as their ticket to a better life.”

Daniels is the EP of both.

East of Hope has a script commitment with penalty, and is written and also executive produced by Peter Mattei.

Victory, which has a pilot commitment at the network, is written by Julian Breece, who will be executive producing as well.

In June, we learned Fox is also developing yet another Daniels/Breece project, Mason Dixon. Breece also sold a megachurch drama surrounding the death of a televangelist to Fox in 2015. No word on the status of that.
