The third installment of the Asgard hero’s MCU journey, Thor: Ragnarok has added Creed star, Tessa Thompson to the cast.
There is very little information attached to this news in the way of who the actress will play in the film, which has opened the door for some interesting rumors and reported inside sources around the interwebs.
Deadline says that a little birdie told them Tessa Thompson is not just a one off love interest or regular supporting character, but a superhero in her own right, that will make appearances in more places than just Thor number 3. That, obviously, sparked all kinds of imaginations and got the timeline hype about the possibilities of getting another PoC character from our childhoods up on the silver screen repping the Marvel team (*cough* Monica Rambeau *cough*).
We’ll have to wait and see whether these rumors can be substantiated, or if they’re just stringing us along, which would be cruel and unusual. Thor: Ragnarok is set to begin filming some time in June of this year and Taika Waititi, the New Zealand Academy Award nominee is in the director’s chair.
