Well, that didn’t take very long nor much convincing did it?
Just 3 episodes into its debut season, FOX has announced a 13-episode second season renewal for its new hit series Sleepy Hollow, which Nicole Beharie and Orlando Jones both star in.
This news, I believe, marks the the fist new series renewal this fall season.
Sleepy Hollow’s premiere episode drew an astounding 10.1 million viewers, and a 3.5 rating, making it the #1 primetime drama on that night in the adults 18-49 demo, as well as FOX’s highest rated fall drama premiere in 6 years, and on any broadcast network in one year, knocking off NBC’s Revolution from that slot.
Episode 3 saw about a 20% dip in viewership from episode 1, drawing roughly 8 million viewers, and a 3.0 rating.
Somewhere right now, I’m sure Beharie and Jones are doing some kind of a happy dance!
Certainly a vote of confidence from FOX, seemingly convinced that the current level of interest in the series will hold, if not increase.
“The show has proven to be a risk well worth taking – it’s a conceptual blast unlike anything else on television and it all holds together with inventive writing and a fantastic cast,” said Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “I can’t wait for fans to experience what else is in store for this fall and even more of this wild ride into Season Two.”
