The Young and the Restless fans were shocked and surprised when they witnessed a steamy moment between Devon Hamilton and Abby Newman.

In true soap opera fashion, the two are in relationships with other people but it doesn’t stop them from getting hot and heavy in Devon’s penthouse. What starts out as a passionate kiss leads to a steamy sex romp between the two that fans haven’t seen in a while on daytime television.

As the show is nearing its 50th anniversary, it seems they are pulling out all the stops to top what they’ve done previously. After the steamy love scene between Abby and Devon played by actors Melissa Ordway and Bryton James, the fans are weighing in.

The responses are mixed

One Twitter user wrote, “Devon and Abby! D**n The wall, the couch, the stairs, the floor.”

Some thought the scene was too much for daytime television. Some even called it “disgusting” and “nasty, with one fan writing, “I can’t believe the writers went too far with Abby and Devon sex scenes half of the show was sex.”

Another wrote," I'm watching again. That was insane! Abby and Devon were hungry. They did it all over the couch, the piano, the stairs, up against the wall, on the floor. Bravo @MelissaOrdway @BrytonEjames for bringing love in the afternoon back to the soaps."
