UPDATE: Ultimate Aaliyah has now been removed from iTunes and Apple Music. No word on why.

Previously reported: There may actually be hope for 2017. We've started out strong. We've seen President Obama give his last speech as POTUS, a speech that had us crying with him. Not only did we get a touching speech, but we got an additional blessing this week.

Ultimate Aaliyah, the singer's second compilation/Greatest Hits album, mysteriously appeared on iTunes and Apple Music.

Now if you aren't sure as to why this is important, let me help you out. It's been 15 years since the death of our beloved. As far we knew, somewhere off in space, her masters and unreleased music existed. We got a brief snippet of her voice to remind us of her on Enough Said with Drake. There was even talk of a posthumous album coming in 2012. Fans got excited until Missy and Timbaland shut down the rumors that they were involved with a posthumous album. Their denial was further proof that a posthumous album wasn't coming anytime soon. So, it never happened. And here is why, according to Complex Magazine her uncle Barry Hankerson was the holdup.

We fought and begged, and still to no end we were left empty handed. But like our angel said, if at first you don't succeed dust yourself off and try again. We did, and here we are. No, we didn't get a new album. Yes, it's an album from 2005. BUT it has all of our favorite hits from baby girl. So, in the end, we can celebrate a small victory.

Now, I'm not sure who I need to PayPal my offering to for making this blessing happen, but you are greatly appreciated.
