Terrence Howard's performance in Hustle & Flow scored him an Academy Award nomination, but that wasn't the true legacy left by his performance in the film. The way Howard pronounced "man" became a national treasure. If you saw that film, you know "man" is best pronounced "mayne."

Because Twitter doesn't have any sense (and we love it), Howard's pronunciation of the word has become fodder for countless memes. Summer is all about the superhero flicks, and thanks to the upcoming DC film Aquaman, it was only a matter of time before the guardian of Atlantis had his name remixed with a little Terrence Howard flair courtesy of Twitter user Mister Morris:

BRUH. He really bringing Hennessy to the underwater function. Henny-Under-The-Sea.

With Aquaman getting the Howard treatment, it was only a matter of time before DC's two most famous heroes received the very same:

And yes, the meme is gender-neutral. Howard is about that Amazon life, too:

If your Spidey senses are tingling, you would be correct in guessing Spidermayne is a thing, too. And, of course, on the Marvel side, the ultimate win goes to Iron Mayne since Howard was in the franchise before being replaced by Don Cheadle.

Although Hugh Jackmayne better move over, too …

It's always an interesting time when memes resurface, and this resurrection had us reminiscing over the classics:

Oh, and we can't forget the time Howard directly addressed the "mayne" memes:

And that is how you meme, mayne.
