The tragic death of Kobe Bryant is causing many to reevaluate the way they exist in the world, including rapper T.I.
The "About The Money" artist appears to be among the people who have vowed to make changes after reflecting on the inspirational life Bryant led before he, his daughter, Gianna, and seven others died in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning, as Blavity previously reported.
The 39-year-old wrote a letter to his daughter Deyjah Harris and stepdaughter Zonnique Pullins on Instagram.
“I love you girls more than my vocabulary will allow me to express. You have grown so much right before my very eyes and blossomed into strong, brilliantly opinionated, independent young women," the rapper wrote. "I’m so proud of you both and I love you to no end, more than you’ll ever know.”
The artist received backlash last year when he said he takes 18-year-old Deyjah to the gynecologist every year to ensure she’s still a virgin. But after Sunday's tragedy, T.I. asked his daughters for forgiveness.
"Please forgive me for any and all imperfections that cause misunderstandings between us…. Charge my mind, not my heart," he wrote on Instagram. "You see Life may throw us curveballs and deal us some pretty bad hands at times. But rest assured, you'll NEVER find yourself in a place too high or low for me to be there to catch you when you fall. I just Can't let another second go by without letting you know while we're still here in this life together…. You have ALL MY LOVE FOR ALL MY LIFE…&AFTER‼️"
T.I. has also flooded his Instagram account with several other inspirational messages since Sunday's tragedy. Two of his posts include a photo of Bryant and Gianna.
"Love hard on your children & family & live everyday like your last," he wrote. "Try to remind yourself to [treat] the people you love like you'll never see them again. You never know… Prayers up for the Bryants."
In another post, he said "as a father I can't even imagine… May their spirits rest comfortably in the afterlife as their legend of love (for basketball&each other) live on forever. Love conquers all. Through all the bulls**t life has to throw at us…Love is the only fool-proof tool we have. Live free & Love hard‼️"
T.I. also shared tributes to his wife, his four sons and his 3-year-old daughter.
"Despite all my shortcomings & transgressions the fact remains…. You Give me a thousand choices & I'd choose you every time," he said to his wife. "I couldn't imagine living in a world without you…or leaving you and the kids to have to live without me."
To his sons, the rapper said "I'm so proud of each and every last one of you guys. You each somehow represent different parts of me that you've made your own."
Several other celebrities have also come forward since the helicopter crash to express how they plan to follow in the late star's footsteps. Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas posted a photo of himself with Bryant and revealed that he will now become a basketball coach for kids.
"You told me to use my bright basketball mind on some form of coaching on an nba/college bench or coaching kids, stop wasting it being an idiot on social media" Arenas wrote on Instagram. "Today I'm starting my coaching career with @socalcavs 14u 'the legacy of an assassins mind will live on.'"
Former NBA center Kendrick Perkins had a change of heart after the tragedy and decided to squash his beef with former teammate Kevin Durant, as Blavity previously reported.
According to CNN, pilot Ara Zobayan was trying to get special permission to fly through foggy conditions before the plane crashed a few minutes later. The passengers were on their way to a basketball game at the Mamba Academy in nearby Thousand Oaks.
