That certainly didn't take long.
Roughly 2 months after it was announced that Tia Mowry would not be returning to BET's hit scripted series The Game next season, Nickelodeon has snatched her up for its nighttime cable network Nick at Nite (which targets adult viewers), to star in a new scripted family comedy sitcom called Instant Mom.
Creadted by Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, and written by Warren Bell and Jessica Butler, Instant Mom (which is based on the real lives of Bell and Butler) centers on:
… a 25-year-old party girl (Mowry) who trades in Cosmos for carpools when she marries an older man with kids.
The plan is to cast an all-African American family, so for those who immediately wondered whether the man she gets involved with would not be black, you have your answer.
Mowry likely isn't losing any sleep over leaving The Game; she's one busy lady… from her hit reality TV show with her sister Tamera on the Style Network, to landing the lead role in an upcoming ABC Family movie titled Mistletones, to this new series on Nick At Nite.
She's also an author, and of course mother.
Her husband, Cory Hardrict, isn't doing to badly either.
Some empire-building happening here that we should keep our eyes on…
