The White House quickly came out with a statement on Monday after the public noticed a bright, red rash on Donald Trump‘s neck.

Photographers captured the rash on Trump’s neck during a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House, causing wide speculations on social media about what is happening to him, according to WRAL News.

What did the White House say about the red rash on Trump’s neck?

As the rumors about Trump’s neck grew wider, the White House said the rash is caused by a cream he’s using for skin treatment.

“President Trump is using a very common cream on the right side of his neck, which is a preventative skin treatment, prescribed by the White House Doctor,” Trump’s doctor Sean Barbabella said in a statement. “The President is using this treatment for one week, and the redness is expected to last for a few weeks.”

The White House, however, didn’t add any clarification about the rash. It’s not clear what exactly the cream is or how long Trump has been using the treatment.

Trump has also been pictured with bruises on his hand

In the past year, Trump has been photographed with noticeable makeup on his hand that appears to be covering his bruises, according to People. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s constantly working and shaking hands all day every day.”

As CNN reported, Trump said that he gets bruises on his hands because he takes a high dose of aspirin. The White House offered another explanation after Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency in July 2025.

At the time, Barbabella said that Trump’s condition is “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”

While the public continues to question Trump’s health, Barbabella said in a December 2025 statement that he “remains in excellent overall health,” per CNN.
