More TV casting news this Friday afternoon… I’m cleaning out my inbox to close out the week, and came across these two that we missed.
First, Ethiopian-Irish actress Ruth Negga has landed a recurring role on ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series, although the character she’ll be playing hasn’t been revealed yet.
This will mark her USA TV debut.
Most recently, Negga appeared on Channel 4’s (UK) political thriller series, Secret State, playing a meddlesome MI6 agent, and Channel 5’s (also in the UK) acclaimed dramatic gangland series Love/Hate.
Up next, catch her in All Is by My Side, John Ridley’s Jimi Hendrix biopic, starring Andre Benjamin.
Second, Danielle Nicolet has booked a recurring role on BET’s dramedy series The Game, playing a character named Yana, who’s described as a physical therapist who wants to help Malik (Hosea Chanchez) get back in the game.
Nicolet’s credits go back to the 1990s, when she appeared in episodes of Family Matters, 3rd Rock From The Sun, and most recently, she starred on ABC’s Family Tools, which the network canceled earlier this year.
She’s also done lots of video game voice work.
