3 TV news quickies you should know.

First, CBS has picked up a new drama executive produced by Morgan Freeman, titled Madam Secretary, which will follow the professional and personal life of a woman Secretary of State. Barbara Hall (Homeland) will write the script and co-executive produce with Freeman. No word on casting or ETA.

Second, beginning this Sunday, February 2nd at 10pm ET/PT, multi-hyphenate TipT.I.Harris Jr. and Mekhi Phifer join the third season of the hit Showtime comedy series House Of Lies. The duo will be featured in a season-long arc as childhood friends-turned-moguls Lukas Frye (T.I.) and Dre (Phifer) who hire Marty (Don Cheadle) to help expand their business empire. They each have very different ideas about the future of their business interests and Marty gets stuck in the middle. The episode marks series star and executive producer Don Cheadle’s directorial debut.

And finally, Grey’s Anatomy star Chandra Wilson will make the leap from the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital to guest-star on ABC’s General Hospital tomorrow (credited by the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest-running American soap opera in production), WednesdayJanuary 29.
