Back in July, I reported that Isaiah Washington would be co-starring and playing multiple roles in the new play Unspeakable, a "dramatic fantasia" on the life and a career of comedy legend Richard Pyror.
The play, which was co-written by James Murray Jackson Jr., who also plays Pryor, was scheduled for an 8-week run at the Royal George Theater in Chicago, starting on October 2.
Well, that was then, and this is now.
This morning it was announced that the play would not open next month as planned, but would be postponed until Spring 2013.
According to PR reps for the production "major funding that did not come through" for the stage play in turn forced the cancellation. They further stated that more details would be forthcoming soon.
