So let me see if I got this straight, and anyone who's addicted to reality shows I'm sure will correct me.
So Evelyn Lozada is a cast member of the popular VH-1 reality show Basketball Wives; The show that everyone loves to say how much they hate, because of how it degrades black women, yet secretly watch it every week religously. And from what I understand, Ms. Lozada is the one who everyone hates most on the show.
Chad Johnson, better known as Chad Ochocinco ("85"), is a brash, arrogant and full of himself NFL player, who was set to play this season for the Miami Dolphins, and who also has had a few reality shows of his own.
Their relationship (Chad and Evelyn's) was chronicled on Basketball Wives, and they got married last month.
So VH-1, seeing a good thing, and a big ratings puller to boot, decided to give them their own reality show Ev & Chad, which was set to premiere next month, on Sept. 3.
Well not anymore…
VH-1 announced today that they are pulling the show off the air, even before its premiere, after Ochocinco was arrested this past Saturday night for physically assulting Lozada, during a domestic dispute.
The network released the following statement: "Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev and Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it."
And if things weren't bad enough, the Dolphins also announced that, as of today, they were cutting Ochocinco from the team.
Was anyone planning to watch this show anyway?
UPDATE: It's now being reported that Ms Lozada this week will file papers for divorce in a Miami court after only six weeks of marriage. For Mr. 85 when it rains it pours
