Sources told TMZ that the heated exchange happened after Usher approached Bieber with “energy and anger.” However, there was no physical contact between the two singers, and police were not contacted, the sources added. It’s not clear what the exchange was about, but it looks like the conflict was resolved quickly.

What is the relationship between Justin Bieber and Usher?
Usher and Bieber have a working relationship that goes back to 2008, according to Entertainment Weekly. Scooter Braun, who discovered Bieber, had him sing for Usher. Bieber was then signed to a joint venture between Braun and Usher, and also connected Bieber to L.A. Reid. Bieber also moved to Atlanta at one point to work with Braun and Usher.
The pair collaborated on several projects throughout the following years, and they discussed the idea of working together for the Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2024. However, that plan never succeeded.
In a 2024 interview with The Breakfast Club, Usher said Bieber declined the opportunity probably because he had a different idea for his career at that time.
“We’re going to do something else in the future, but no love lost or anything like that,” Usher said in the interview at that time, per Entertainment Weekly.
The “Confessions” singer also said he reached out to several other artists for the Super Bowl Halftime Show at that time.
“I think that it’s a lot of pressure for the Super Bowl, obviously, for me to put together a show, so I reached out to everybody,” Usher said. “Justin wasn’t the only person I actually spoke to about doing the Super Bowl, but the moment was maybe for later.”
